AMC Theatres Won't Allow Texting in "the Foreseeable Future"

New chief executive and president of AMC Theatres,  Adam M. Aron, caused quite the buzz when he stated that the company was looking into making theaters "more texting friendly." This plan was being developed in hopes to cause a bigger draw of the millennial demographic.

While AMC ensured that this would only be tested "in a very few screens," many film goers still feared that this experiment could wield results that would carry over to other major theater chains.

Luckily, Aron came out today with a public statement, issued over Twitter and Facebook, stating that "With your advice in hand; there will be NO TEXTING ALLOWED in any of the auditoriums at AMC Theatres. Not today, not tomorrow, and not in the foreseeable future."

So breathe easy movie goers, texting is still not allowed in AMC Theaters, and you have every right to report anyone violating these rules to the nearest staff member.

Cardinals Announce #PlayBallLikeACardinal Video Initiative

ST. LOUIS, MO, March 25, 2016 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have launched a youth-focused video engagement initiative, #PlayBallLikeACardinal, to highlight kids' love of the game of baseball and encourage them to play the game like their favorite Cardinals players.

Through #PlayBallLikeACardinal, the St. Louis Cardinals are seeking out young people who have a passion for the Redbirds and are incorporating that passion into how they play the game—whether it is tee-ball, baseball, softball, wiffleball, stick-ball, tape-ball or any other version of the great American Pastime.

“The #PlayBallLikeACardinal initiative gives our young fans the opportunity to display their love for their favorite Cardinals player’s style of play,” said Bill DeWitt III, President of the St. Louis Cardinals.  “It also gives fans, and our organization, a creative and unique way to showcase their child’s passion for the Cardinals.”

Fans are asked to post short video clips of their children imitating their favorite Cardinals players to their preferred social media platform (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) using the hashtag, #PlayBallLikeACardinal, or share a link to a video they have posted to a public video platform like YouTube directly with the Cardinals at www.cardinals.com/playball .  The Cardinals intend to share videos of children playing ball like Cardinals on the team’s television broadcasts such as Cardinals Insider, within Busch Stadium on the new high definition scoreboard or online via cardinals.com, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

#PlayBallLikeACardinal is inspired by Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred's directive to encourage MLB teams to work to get more kids to play baseball and a variety of related games.

"Major League Baseball's foremost goals revolve around allowing children to experience the fun of our game and instilling in them a love for our National Pastime,” said MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. “I am pleased that the #PlayBallLikeACardinal video initiative supports the objectives of MLB's Play Ball program and will incorporate technology in a fun, seamless fashion.  Knowing the passion and loyalty of Cardinal fans, I look forward to the program's success in developing even stronger bonds between kids and their favorite players."

#PlayBallLikeACardinal is one of several #CardsFanFlix fan engagement initiatives the St. Louis Cardinals have undertaken to encourage fans to create videos that celebrate the team.  Last season, hundreds of fans collectively participated in the various #CardsFanFlix video engagement promotions which included the Ultimate Fan Video Contest, Take Me Out to the Ballgame Music Video contest, 2015 All-Star Video the Vote promotion, Ultimate Fan Broadcaster Contest, Greatest Postseason Moments Contest, #12inStL Fan Video Rally, and the team's season-long celebration of Red Schoendienst's incredible 70+ years in major league baseball, #LoveRed2.  The Cardinals are currently sponsoring the 2nd Annual Cardinals Ultimate Fan Contest (www.cardinals.com/ultimatefan) and the first annual High School Video Challenge (www.cardinals.com/studentvideochallenge ) to challenge High School students to develop a video in collaboration with the Cardinals that promotes the team and their high school, while also integrating elements of the S.T.E.A.M. curriculum.

Through the #CardsFanFlix fan engagement initiative, the St. Louis Cardinals hope to tap into the increasing trend of user-generated video content made possible by advances with mobile technology and social media.  Fans can learn more about #CardsFanFlix and view fan created videos at www.cardinals.com/fanflix .  Fans can join the conversation with #CardsFanFlix and #PlayBallLikeACardinal.

"The LEGO Batman Movie" Trailer Released Amidst "Batman v Superman" Hype

While fans of the Caped Crusader are eagerly awaiting for their turn to see Ben Affleck's highly lauded portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. Pictures released their first trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie.

The teaser for the follow-up to The LEGO Movie, which was both a critical and commercial success, serves up a nice taste of Bat-Action and Bat-Comedy that will be featured in the upcoming film. We even get to see a glimpse of an assembled (no pun intended) Justice League.

The LEGO Batman Movie is set to release some time in 2017!

Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2016

There have been some great movies to hit theaters already in 2016. The Witch, Zootopia, and 10 Cloverfield Lane have all been fantastic, but there are still more movies to come this year!

Here are our Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2016!

10. Ratchet and Clank

It's not often that we get a movie based off of video games... if ever. With that being said, classic playstation series Ratchet and Clank is coming to the silver screen, and it looks promising. With an art style that should appeal to fans of recent Disney/Pixar films, and an established fanbase, Ratchet and Clank should garner interest from a fairly wide demographic. Ratchet and Clank is scheduled to be in theaters April 29, 2016.

9. The Jungle Book

We live in a world where movies that we adore are getting remade. While plenty of these remakes seem to add very little to the equation, The Jungle Book will at least be significantly different in terms of visuals. From what we have seen, this film already seems to be begging for an Oscar nomination for visual effects. The Jungle Book has some major shoes to fill, but hopefully this start-studded cast (including Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken, Idris Elba and more), can help breathe some life into this remake. The Jungle Book will be in theaters April 15, 2016!

8. The Conjuring 2

Boo! Did we scare you? Probably not, but that's not to say that the next film on our list won't! The Conjuring was a pleasant surprise for horror fans, with it being one of the most highly praised horror films in quite some time. Unfortunately, the tangentially related film, Annabelle, failed to stir up the same buzz or accolades, and appeared to be a quick cash-in. Thankfully, we are getting the proper sequel that it deserves. With the original writers and director returning alongside the original Warrens, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, we are fully expecting a film that will scare and entertain. The Conjuring 2 will be in theaters June 10, 2016!

7. Captain America: Civil War

We know what you're thinking. "How is this not higher on our list?" First off, consider all of the movies that are going to be fantastic that didn't even make the list. Captain America: Civil War has us excited as movie and comic book fans. So why not put it higher. Civil War is going to be good. It could be great. It won't be bad. Disney and Marvel do a great job protecting the integrity of their Marvel Cinematic Universe. Which means that we haven't seen them take any particularly major risks. That's not a bad thing. Don't fix what isn't broken. With that being said, much like Madden and Call of Duty, we know what to expect each and every year. Thankfully, that means Civil War SHOULD be pretty good. Captain America: Civil War will be in theaters May 6, 2016.

6. Demolition

If you visit Demolition's page on Rotten Tomatoes, you will see that the critics are already split right down the middle. So with it currently only being rated at a 54%, why are we still so excited to watch this film? Two words: Jake Gyllenhaall. He may have a few misses here and there on his resume, but he typically isn't the reason a movie is bad. He's got the acting chops to be considered one of the greats of his generation. Don't believe us? Check out Prisoners, Nightcrawler, and End of Watch, then get back to us.

Demolition is currently being screened at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, and while some don't seem to be on-board, others are walking away loving it. This quirky and off-beat film has all the makings of a cult-classic, and we can't wait to see it in theaters after its limited release on April 8, 2016.

5. Suicide Squad

If a movie about forcing a team of super villains doesn't get you excited enough, don't forget to consider the fact that this film is being directed by the same guy, David Ayer, who brought us Training Day (writer and producer), Fury, and End of Watch. Both of those films are visceral, heart-wrenching, and have some really great performances. We can't wait to see a "superhero" film directed by someone as exciting as any other film maker in the business right now. Also, if you think you will love him or not, you have to admit that you're curious at how good Jared Leto's Joker could be. Suicide Squad is set for release on August 5, 2016.

4. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Lumos Maxima! For those of you in the dark, let us shine some light on the newest film set within the magical world of Harry Potter. While many of us are still having to deal with the Harry Potter film series ending in 2011, J.K. Rowling has been hard at work on her first screenplay! This is the first time that we have seen this universe outside of the United Kingdom, and for American fans of the films and books, that should be enough to stir up great excitement. One of the most exciting aspects about Fantastic Beasts that many probably aren't talking about, is the inclusion of a muggle (non-witch or non-wizard) within our main group of heroes. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is slated for a November 18, 2016 release.

3. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One is shrouded in mystery, but what we do know, is that this will give us a whole new perspective to the wars of Star Wars. The first of the standalone Star Wars Anthology Series will focus on the ground level of the battles raging between the light and the dark. It is also being directed by another filmmaker that we are excited about, Gareth Evans, the director of 2014's Godzilla and 2010's Monsters. Do we even really need to say anything other than "Star Wars?" We'll be seeing it in theaters December 16, 2016!

2. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The release of Batman v Superman (March 25, 2016), is so close that we can taste it! You will not find a shortage of doubters on in the internet, but regardless of their complaints of what they have seen in the trailers, there is one thing that launches this film so high on our list: Batman. When it was first announced that Ben Affleck would be playing titular hero, Batman, many were not pleased. Many of those fans had flashbacks to the less-than-stellar Daredevil film, but honestly, Ben Affleck wasn't what made that movie bad. We also have to take into consideration that Affleck is an extremely successful filmmaker, garnering accolades for The Town, and an Academy Award for Argo. The man isn't just a Hollywood hunk, but a man with a great directing, writing, and acting resume.

Even if we through all of that out of the window, the direction in which Zack Snyder appears to be taking the Caped Crusader appears to be the most volatile and visceral version of the hero that we may have ever seen. Even if the movie as a whole isn't great, we have high hopes that Ben Affleck's Batman might be the best version of Knight from Gotham that we have ever seen on film. Oh, and WONDER WOMAN!

1. Green Room

"What? Never heard of it!" A24 is a film studio that you may have been hearing a lot about lately, without even realizing it. One of their films, Ex Machina, made our Top Movies of 2015 list. Their film, Room, has propelled actress Brie Larson (or should was say Academy Award Winning Actress) into the limelight. We gave their movie, The Witch, high praise in our review on Worth a Watch.

"But what is it about the the actual film that we should be excited about?"

In our review of 10 Cloverfield Lane, we mentioned the great performance by John Goodman, and how strange it was to see him play such a creepy character. In Green Room, we are going to get a similar experience with Sir Patrick Stewart. In Green Room, Patrick Stewart appears to be the leader of a group of skinheads that a group of punk-rockers have to fight to survive and escape from. While it seems to follow some of the survival horror tropes, the unique setting and premise has us excited to see something that we haven't quite seen before in theaters on April 15, 2016.

The following trailer is the Green Band trailer. If you want the full effect check out the VERY NSFW Red Band Trailer for Green Room.

Top 10 Most Anticipated Video Games of 2016

Here are just a few of the video games that we are looking forward to playing in 2016! If you like listening more than reading, listen to our breakdown of this list on this episode of Nico Says Things!

10: Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The Lego video game franchise includes some great properties, and one of the most popular being Star Wars. If you've played a Lego video game in the past decade, you already know what to expect: puzzles, collectibles, and a more humorous take of what you already love. With Star Wars Episode VIII not coming until late 2017, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story not releasing until December 2016, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will have to hold us over once it releases on June 28, 2016.

9: Mighty No. 9

Other than it being appropriately placed on our list, Mighty No. 9 has got us excited for another reason. Mighty No. 9, a game that was funded through Kickstarter, has been called the spiritual successor to the classic video game series, Mega Man. We haven't got a proper Mega Man release in quite some time, so needless to say we are exited to see how the formula has evolved over the years, and get our hands on some responsive, challenging, and fun gameplay. The game has been marred by delays, and we unfortunately don't have a lock on a release date. So while we are anticipating the game that was initially promised to be released in April 2015, we aren't necessarily holding our breath anymore.

8: The Legend of Zelda Wii U

Outside of Mario, there might not be a more iconic Nintendo character as Link. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been deemed one of the most innovative gaming achievements of our time, and is considered by many, one of the greatest games ever created. We have had a few more Zelda games since, but none of them has seemed to innovate and change the gaming landscape quite how Ocarina of Time did on the Nintendo 64. The Legend of Zelda Wii U, is expected to continue the Zelda legacy, while also moving into a more open world, a la western developed action games and RPGs. This game would be higher on our list, but with it's progress in production in the shadows, and the looming announcement of Nintendo's next console, this version has taken the back seat to what could possibly come with new hardware.

7:  Final Fantasy XV

While Massive Multiplayer Online Games, or MMOs, have become extremely popular; the Final Fantasy series has always been known for it's ambitious, if not convoluted, storytelling and classic Japanese Roleplaying Game elements. Final Fantasy XIV, and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, were solid MMOs, but left a lot of fans wanting. Final Fantasy XV appears to be a return to the heart-and-soul of the long running series, while also implementing new gameplay elements, including a fight system reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts. There will undoubtably be story moments that will have us scratching our heads, but at least the game appears to star characters who are just as confused as we are. We are not expecting the best Final Fantasy game in the series, but possibly the most accessible one.

6: Mirror's Edge Catalyst

The original Mirror's Edge was released in 2008, and wasn't the biggest commercial success. With that being said, the excellent gameplay mechanics and art style garnered this first-person action game a substantial cult following. That apparently was enough to convince publisher Electronic Arts to fund another title in the series. The major difference between the original title and Catalyst, appears to be Catalyst's focus on story. Gone are the 2D screens and exposition (which we found pretty charming), and in are the fully acted and 3D rendered cutscenes. There was nothing quite like the original game, and here's to hoping that there are more innovations to come when Mirror's Edge Catalyst releases on May 24, 2016.

5: Horizon Zero Dawn

Though technically masterful; Guerrilla Games' Killzone series never really succeeded at becoming a household name like Halo or Call of Duty. That's not to say that the team isn't talented. We can't wait to see this new universe that they have been creating, and slay some robo-dinosaurs. This game has the potential to be higher on this list, but we have only seen about two demos that were extremely similar. We hope that there is more to the game than what we have seen, and that there isn't an untimely delay coming.

4: Quantum Break

Remedy Entertainment could be one of the best Third-Person Action game developers in the business. With games like Max Payne and Alan Wake under their belts, we know that we are getting unique gameplay, intriguing stories, and stunning visuals. The time manipulation action gameplay would have had us onboard alone, but there is also a live action television show tie-in. Oh, and as an added bonus, one of the stars featured in the game and show is Aiden Gillen of The Wire and Game of Thrones. (C'mon you didn't think you'd go through one whole article written by Nico Cuevas without at least one mention of The Wire, did you?)

Quantum Break is set to release on April 6, 2016, exclusively on the Xbox One.

3: No Man's Sky

It's actually happening. No Man's Sky has a release date (June 21, 2016). One of the largest video game universes that has ever been created, is being created by one of the smaller teams out there, that has been growing in size closer to the release, and math. This mathematically generated universe is just waiting to be explored by Playstation 4 and PC owners. While there are more "video gamey" things featured in the title, the expanse and excitement of potential discoveries alone has us salivating.

2: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Delay. Delay. Delay. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was originally scheduled to be released in March, then was delayed to April, and now has settled on a release date of May 10, 2016. Naughty Dog's previous releases have been some of the best video game experiences to be had, and no other studio knows how to optimize the power of Playstation hardware quite like the creators of the Uncharted series and The Last of Us. We can't wait to hop back into the shoes of pulp-action hero, Nathan Drake, for what should be the final time.

1: Persona 5

While Persona is not a household name, the JRPG series has grown a dedicated following, and rightfully so. It also received a resurgence of interest thanks to the re-release of Playstation 2's Persona 4, on the Playstation Vita.

What separates Persona from other JRPG series? There really isn't another game series that blends the familiar with the supernatural quite like Persona. As the hero in the Persona games, you will find yourself not just battling monsters called "shadows," exploring dungeons, and bettering you and your party members' stats. You will also find yourself going to class, spending time with friends, wooing a potential partner, and trying to just be a regular kid.

We don't have a release date for Persona 5 just yet, but once it comes out, we will have hours upon hours of gameplay to sink our teeth into.

2016 Cardinals Hall of Fame Fan Balloting Begins Today

Fans to Select Two Players for August Induction from List of Eight Former Cardinals Greats

ST. LOUIS, Mo., March 11, 2016 – The St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame fan balloting process began earlier today.  Fans can select two players for the Saturday, August 27th induction from a ballot that includes Cardinals greats Chris Carpenter, Keith Hernandez, Jason Isringhausen, Mark McGwire, Matt Morris, Edgar Renteria, Scott Rolen and Joe Torre.

The eight modern ballot nominees were selected by a “Red Ribbon” committee of Cardinals baseball experts through a secret ballot process in January.  The Cardinals Hall of Fame Vote (#CardsHOF) presented by Edward Jones will run until Wednesday, April 20th at cardinals.com/HOF.  The two players with the most fan votes after voting concludes will be inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame during a formal enshrinement ceremony that will take place on Saturday, August 27th as part of the 2016 Cardinals Hall of Fame Induction Weekend.

“Induction into the Cardinals Hall of Fame is one of the highest honors the team can bestow,” said Bill DeWitt Jr., Chairman and CEO of the St. Louis Cardinals.  “We are delighted to give our fans a voice in the induction process so they can help us recognize the exceptional careers and achievements of some of the best players in Cardinals history.”

The St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame was established as a way to recognize the exceptional careers and significant achievements of the greatest players in Cardinals history.  To be eligible, players must have played for the Cardinals for at least three seasons and be retired as a player from Major League Baseball for at least three years.  The eligible pool of players is divided into two categories of ‘modern players’ and ‘veteran players.’  If a player retired more than 40 years prior to the induction year, he is classified as a veteran player.

In addition to nominating modern players for fan balloting, the “Red Ribbon” committee of Cardinals baseball experts also elected a veteran player for induction using a secret ballot process.  Independently of this process, the Cardinals organization may also opt to induct an individual who was an important figure in Cardinals history, such as a coach, broadcaster or member of the front office.

The third elected induction class will be announced on Friday, April 29th during a televised 30-minute Hall of Fame announcement special on FOX Sports Midwest, and also in a pre-game ceremony at Busch Stadium before the Cardinals face the Washington Nationals.

Each member of the Cardinals Hall of Fame is permanently enshrined in the Cardinals Hall of Fame Gallery presented by Edward Jones located on the second floor of Cardinals Nation in Ballpark Village, just outside the entrance to the team’s museum.  The Hall of Fame Gallery is free and open to the public.  The plaques that adorn the gallery are produced by Matthews International, the company that also produces the plaques for the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

Following is a description of each nominee’s career as a Cardinal:

Chris Carpenter (#CarpenterHOF)

2005 Cy Young award, 95-44, 3.07 ERA, 1085 K’s

Chris Carpenter played nine seasons with the Cardinals and was selected as a National League All Star three times: 2005, 2006 and 2010.  He made 18 starts for St. Louis during the postseason, including a start in Game 3 of the 2006 World Series vs. Detroit pitching eight shutout innings, allowing no runs on three hits and striking out six.  The game that solidifies Carpenter into Cardinals fans hearts may be Game 5 of the 2011 Division Series vs. Philadelphia when he pitched a complete-game, 3-hit shutout, clinching the Division Series on the way to the team’s 11th World Championship.  He was the National League Cy Young award winner in 2005 after a 21-5 season, and National League Comeback Player of the year in 2009.  Carpenter’s .683 winning pct. ranks 2nd on the Cardinals franchise All-Time list and his 1085 strikeouts rank 4th All-Time.  He is also the Cardinals All-Time postseason leader in wins (10) and innings pitched (108.0).

Mark McGwire (#McGwireHOF)

220 HR, 473 RBI, 1.111 OPS

Mark McGwire finished his playing career in 2001 with St. Louis after joining the club via trade on July 31, 1997.  McGwire captured the World’s attention with the “Race for the Record” in 1998, breaking Major League Baseball’s single-season home run record of 61 set by Roger Maris with 70 homers.  He blasted 220 career home runs with the Cardinals ranking 6th in franchise history, leading the Majors in home runs in both 1998 and 1999 (65), the top two season totals in Cardinals history.  He set the Cardinals single-season walk mark with 162 in 1998 and had back-to-back seasons of 147 RBI (’98 and ’99), ranking tied for 3rd in Cardinals history.  He was a three-time All-Star while with St. Louis (1998, 1999, 2000) and won the Silver Slugger in 1998.

101-62, 3.61 ERA, 986 K’s

Matt Morris was the No. 1 draft pick (12th overall) for St. Louis in the 1995 amateur draft and reached the Majors just a year and a half later.  He made his Major League debut April 4, 1997, and went 12-9 that season in 33 starts.  He finished 3rd in the Rookie of the Year balloting in 1997 and was a two-time All-Star in 2001 and 2002.  Morris tied for the lead in the Majors with 22 wins in 2001 (also Curt Schilling), finishing 3rd in Cy Young voting.  Morris pitched for the Cardinals from 1997-2005, and played in five postseasons and one World Series (2004).  He won 101 games over his career with St. Louis and still ranks 7th on the franchise All-Time lists with a .620 winning pct. and 6th with 986 strikeouts.

Edgar Renteria (#RenteriaHOF)

.290 AVG, 451 RBI, 207 2B

Edgar Renteria played six seasons with the Cardinals and was named a National League All-Star three times (2000, 2003, 2004).  The shortstop won two Gold Gloves while with St. Louis in 2002 and 2003, and three Silver Slugger Awards in 2000, 2002 and 2003.  Renteria batted .330 with St. Louis in 2003, the All-Time Cardinals single-season leader for a shortstop, as are his 47 doubles that season.  He drove in his single-season high 100 runs in 2003 which rank 2nd among all St. Louis shortstops, and his 83 RBI in 2002 are his 2nd highest career total. In his five plus seasons (2002-2007) with the Cardinals, Scott Rolen dominated the hot corner winning Gold Gloves in 2003, 2004 and 2006, and the Silver Slugger award in 2002.  He was named to the National League All-Star team in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, and named to the All-Busch Stadium team as the third baseman by vote of fans.  Rolen hit a career high 49 doubles in 2003 and had 48 doubles during the team’s 2006 World Championship season.  He hit over 20 homers three times with St. Louis (2003, ’04, ’06) and had over 90 RBI each of those same three seasons.  In 2004, Rolen batted .314 which ranked 2nd among National League third basemen and was 2nd on the team, a year in which the club had four players with an average above .300.  Following the 2004 season, Rolen finished 4th in National League MVP voting. Rolen was a big contributor during the postseason with St. Louis. He batted .310 (9-29) during the National League Championship Series vs. Houston in 2004, including his two-run home run off Roger Clemens in the 6th inning of Game 7 that plated the pennant-clinching run.  In 2006, Rolen helped the club to its 10th World Championship, closing out the postseason with a 10-game hitting streak (.351, 13-37) that began in Game 3 of the NLCS vs. the New York Mets.

Torre was named the National League MVP in 1971, after leading the league with a .363 batting average, 137 RBI and 230 hits.  His 230 hits in ‘71 were the most since Stan Musial’s 230 in 1948 and still rank as the 4th-highest single-season total in franchise history.  He posted a career batting average with the Cardinals of .308, ranking 9th in Cardinals franchise history. During his six seasons with the Cardinals, Torre had over 100 RBI three times and never had less than 149 hits or a batting average lower than .282.

Cards Agree to Five-Year Pact with Kolten Wong

Second Baseman Signed Thru 2020 with Club Option for 2021

JUPITER, FL., March 2, 2016 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced this morning that they have reached agreement with second baseman Kolten Wong on a five-year contract (2016-2020) that also includes a club option for the 2021 season.  Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Kolten provides an excellent example of our strategy to sign, develop and retain the best talent available,” said Cardinals Chairman Bill DeWitt, Jr.  “Kolten has had a nice start to his career and we look forward to having him be a key part of our future.”

“We are pleased to have Kolten signed for the next five years,” stated Cardinals Senior Vice President/General Manager John Mozeliak.  “Kolten has already been a key part of several high-profile moments during his young career and we look forward to his continued growth and success as a member of this organization.”

Wong, 25, was the Cardinals 1st round draft choice in 2011 out of the University of Hawaii and made his Major League debut just two years later in 2013 as a member of the Cardinals National League Championship team.

The left-handed hitting Wong finished third in 2014 N.L. Rookie of the Year voting and he was the Cardinals Organizational Player of the Year in 2013.  In 295 career games, Wong has posted a .250 batting average with 23 home runs, 103 RBI and 38 stolen bases.

In 2014, Wong’s three postseason home runs, including a walk-off shot against the Dodgers in Game 2 of the N.L. Championship Series, were the most by a rookie second baseman in M.L. history.  Wong holds the Cardinals single-series postseason record for total bases by a second baseman (15 in 2014 NLCS) and each of his last nine postseason hits have gone for extra bases, tying Miguel Cabrera and Jayson Werth for the M.L. record.

After hitting 12 home runs in 2014 and 11 last season, Wong became the first Cardinals second baseman since Frankie Frisch (1927-28) to compile back-to-back seasons with 10 or more home runs.  Wong ranked 3rd among N.L. second basemen in homers last season and 4th in RBI (61), while leading the majors second basemen with 312 putouts.  His 31 defensive gems over the past two seasons are tops on the Cardinals and he led the team last season with 19 defensive highlight plays.

Wong led the Cardinals with 25 two-out RBI last season and hit 5 of his 11 home runs with two outs.  He also led the team in hit by pitch (15) and finished 2nd in stolen bases (15).   His team-high 20 stolen bases in 2014 were the most by a Cardinals player (Cesar Izturis, 24) since 2008.

Album Review: Hillsong Young & Free's "Youth Revival (Live)"

Keeping track of Hillsong Church's branches of music can be a nightmare.

"Is this song by Hillsong United or Hillsong Worship?"

"Well, it's a song that was released on a Hillsong United album, but this is Hillsong Worship's version of it."

Luckily, it isn't too difficult to pick out a Hillsong Young & Free song out of the bunch. The musical youth ministry has been releasing music since 2013, and have become a staple in youth and contemporary worship services across the globe. With the recent release of "Youth Revival (Live)" can Young & Free make the same splash that Hillsong United made with their albums "Zion" and "Empires"?

The first thing that must be addressed is the fact that "Youth Revival (Live)" is indeed a live album. The album only has one studio/radio track: "Where You Are." That doesn't mean the rest of the album isn't good. It succeeds sonically, and doesn't lose much of the desired punch. With that being said, the impeccable quality of "Where You Are" makes you wonder how great a full studio version of the album could be.

The opening track is a live version of "Where You Are," and it works pretty well. It offers enough familiarity for those who have heard the radio single version released in 2015. "Where You Are" is a pretty straightforward, but well executed dance track with a bouncy groove and infectious melody. The addition of the live drums gives the track more of a funky feel, and could ultimately make the song more fun.

Following "Where You Are" are a few more synth heavy tracks, but "Youth Revival (Live)" quickly proves that it is much more dynamic. The tracks "Face to Face" and "Never Alone" are minimalistic and vulnerable pop songs that is sure to please fans of bands like Barcelona. Between those two, is a straight forward piano ballad, "To My Knees" that has the potential to be the song that every worship band plays during alter calls.

The songs "When the Fight Calls" and "Falling Into You" are the absolute standouts in this album. Both are very different, with "When the Fight Calls" being a positive power pop anthem, and "Falling Into You" being very playful and funky. "Falling Into You" is actually not too dissimilar, in terms of feel, from "Still Into You" by Paramore.

The song closes with an array of songs that summarize the dynamics of the album, effectively being a third act.

Lyrically, the album doesn't stray far from your standard contemporary worship tropes, which isn't an entirely bad thing. If anything "Youth Revival (Live)" will continue to push forward the discussion of what church's consider "worship-appropriate music."

Thankfully, Hillsong Young & Free's latest release offers an album that will appeal to those who are into electronic pop, without feeling like a derivative cash-in on a genre growing in popularity. The album doesn't get stale, making a full listen pretty rewarding, while also begging you to hit repeat on a handful of the songs. It's chomping at the bit to be blared with the windows down and wind in your hair. It could also be a great album to put in your exercise playlist. It's going to be a good spring and summer for Hillsong Young & Free.
